More About Us - History

To God be the Glory for what He has done. Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the
vision for an equipping ministry for the saints has been carried for many years.

God placed a deep longing within Eunice and Anthony to know Him and serve His people.
As an equipping ministry, a primary focus areas are prayer, practical Biblical teaching,
fellowship, spiritual gift discovery and use. Also, emphasis on encouragement is a critical
part of growth to those seeking to answer God's call.

On February 8, 2004, together as a team, God sent forth both Anthony and Eunice to do
this "new" work, for no other reason than to honor and glorify Him
.
This ministry and work
is known as the New Light Christian Center, Inc.

In preparation for the journey ahead, both recently moved from their former
leadership roles. Anthony and Eunice served nearly 4 years under the blessed
leadership of Pastor Calvin Johnson at the
Lighthouse Baptist Church in the Westlake

community of
Waldorf, Maryland.

Trusting God's leading to walk within the foundational truths recorded in the Holy Scriptures.
This is to be accomplished by God through us as mere vessels - endeavoring to edify the body
of Christ, to perfect the saints, to identify, equip and involve the saints in the work of the ministry. It is God's desire for us until we all come to the unity of the faith, and come into the fullness of Christ. We believe this to be a task of God-sized proportion that only He can bring into fruition.

Anthony  Meade was born in Washington, DC. He is the eldest child of Doris Meade-Brown.
He was raised in the
Lincoln community of Lanham, Maryland.

Eunice  was also born in Washington, DC. She is the youngest child of the late
Clifton U. Greene and the late Evelyn H. Greene. She was raised in Michigan Park
a northeast
community of the
District of Columbia.

In September 1984, Anthony and Eunice were joined in holy matrimony.  Currently, they
along with their daughter,
Capri, reside in Temple Hills, Maryland.

Anthony is known for his spirit of encouragement and warm personality. He is a caring
husband and father. He is a brother known and respected for his integrity and diligence. His gift of
leadership of men was first manifested while serving in the U.S. Army. At Lighthouse, he was
ordained a Deacon and led the "Brothers in Christ" men's ministry.
In addition to his current job,
Deacon Meade is the proprietor of a small business.

At an early age, Eunice began Christian training at home and in the Salem Baptist Church. She
attended public school,
American University, and Howard University Saturday College in Washington, DC
.  Also, she attended the Baptist International School of Theology in Oxon Hill, Maryland and is a graduate of the New Orleans Baptist Seminary. She is certified in the field of Pastoral Ministry. Eunice holds certification in counseling and is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. Her area of emphasis is Christian Education. Currently, she is pursing a Master of Divinity Degree in Pastoral Ministry.

Eunice has a passion for teaching. She is known for her unique style of presenting the Word. Recognized as a diligent worker both inside and outside the church, she has held varied positions of responsibility. All of which, have afforded her the opportunity to learn, develop, grow in faith and in Christian principles. She continues to serve bi-vocationally in ministry while having been employed with the Federal Government for the past 24 years. At Lighthouse, she served as an Associate on the Pastoral Staff and the Minister of Christian Education.

Her callings from God have unfolded in phases. First, in 1978, she was called to teach. Later,
while serving as church administrator, she was called to preach the Gospel.  Under the anointed
leadership of Pastor Sarah L. Adams (Founder of Divine Mission Church), Pastor Meade was licensed and ordained on
January 20, 1991.

NLCC Overseer is Pastor Sarah L. Adams.  She has been a pastor, mother, sister and friend from our spiritual infancy. More importantly, she is a rare jewel and a true woman of God. Overseer Adams, being a soul winner herself, has always encouraged and prayerfully watched over us.  Also, we give much thanks to God for the dynamic leadership of Elder Mi'guel Adams who now serves as the pastor of Divine Mission Church.

Jesus Christ is the head and the foundation of the ministry. However, the Divine Mission Church of Temple Hills, MD serves as our covering and has affirmed this ministry as ordained by God.

The first Worship and Fellowship Service held on Sunday, March 14, 2004 was greatly blessed with 10 Saints in attendance.
